Madurai, August 4, 2024 – Sethu FC is thrilled to announce the extension of contracts for three of its standout players, Phanjoubam Nirmala Devi, Kaviya Pakkirisamy, and Babina Devi, for an additional two years. These extensions are pivotal in ensuring the continuity and strength of the team as it prepares for the upcoming seasons.

Phanjoubam Nirmala Devi, a rock-solid centre-back, has been a key figure in Sethu FC’s defense. Her exceptional defensive skills, leadership on the pitch, and ability to marshal the backline have been critical to the team’s success. Nirmala’s extended stay will be vital in maintaining the team’s defensive resilience.

Kaviya Pakkirisamy, a speedy and prolific winger, has consistently delivered with her blistering pace and goal-scoring ability. Madurai, February 18, 2024, Sethu FC proudly announces that two of its outstanding players, Kaviya Pakkirisamy from Tamil Nadu and Kajol Dsouza from Pune, have been chosen to represent the Indian Women’s National Team in the prestigious Turkish Women’s Cup 2024. This momentous tournament, scheduled from February 21 to 27, 2024, will see India compete against Estonia, Kosovo, and Hong Kong in a round-robin format.

Kaviya and Kajol’s selection is a testament to their exceptional skills, dedication, and consistent performances on the field. Both players have been standout performers for Sethu FC in the Indian Women’s League 2023–24 season.

For Kaviya Pakkirisamy, this marks her first call-up to the Indian Women’s National Team, signifying a significant milestone in her burgeoning career. Additionally, our goalkeeper and captain, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, and defender, Gita Rana, will represent the Nepal Women’s National Team at the Eighth WAFF Women’s Championship in Saudi Arabia. Anjila and Gita have joined the Nepal’s squad for the tournament scheduled from February 19 to 29, 2024, in Jeddah.

Nepal received a special invitation to participate in the WAFF championship alongside teams from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Guam.
